Riyad Mahrez has his ‘heart set’ on a move away from Leicester to Barcelona this summer, according to Sport.
The Algerian has yet to hit the same heights as he did last season, scoring just five league goals this season. However, four goals in the Champions League has helped the Premier League Champions to a quarter final place, where they will face Atlético Madrid.
He will not come cheap, with £35m being the fee that will look to prize him away from Leicester, but Barcelona will most likely have to sell before they buy.
There has been rumours of André Gomes making a move away from the Camp Nou, after the Portuguese midfielder failing to make much of an impact since his move in the summer. But it is Arda Turan who may be the one to leave, with English giants Arsenal monitoring him.
The 30-year-old has had a solid season so far, contributing to 19 goals in 29 games (13 goals, 6 assists), but with his age and the competition he has to compete with in the Barca midfield, they may look to let him go to recoup some of the money they spent on him.
The fee, reported by The Times, that Arsenal will look to bid is around £25m, just one million less than what they paid Atlético for him just two years ago.
With Luis Enrique leaving by the end of the season, it is unlikely that anyone will be coming in or out of the club until a new manager is brought in.
Would Mahrez be a good signing for Barcelona? And would they be making a mistake letting Turan leave? Leave a comment, or tweet us at @TheLaLigaZone.
